Recovery: Recovery is perpetually better. Bleeding, cramps and aches have significantly lessened. Looking down to see if Mia is nursing correctly is hard work! I still have serious tension in my neck and shoulders. ... And my hemorrhoid is gone! YES! NO MORE HEMORRHOIDS!!!!
Breastfeeding: Overall, breastfeeding has turned its ugly head around and it's not SO bad anymore. My nipples are still sore (I've got a biter!) I've also got a pretty good supply (knock on wood) that's alleviated with nursing and pumping every few days. I've also found something that works better than Lanolin! If you're on the lookout for an organic, non-GMO, natural nipple cream, check out Earth Mama Angel Baby Natural Nipple Butter Nursing Cream!
Weight: As of this morning, I check in at 134 lbs and have lost 20 lbs overall. I still have 22 lbs left before I get to my pre-pregnancy weight.
Height/Weight: Mia was excused from this week's weigh-in because she was gaining so well considering our history! As of last Wednesday, she is 8 lbs 9 oz and 19 1/2 in long!
Routine: My little girl still feeds every 3 hours during the day and I still cluster feed her every 2 hours from 5-11 so she wakes up once during the night.
Sleeping: For the most part, Mia sleeps really well for the majority of the day/night... She just has a period where she is awake until her next feed (I've tried to feed her during her fits and she just does NOT want any of it. :( )... I don't know how to entertain her, so she's fussy and irritable. It's horrible.
Feeding: She feeds for 10-15 min on the first breast and 5-10 min on the second. I don't think she's ever getting that fatty hind milk, but I digress. She gains weight well and is healthy overall.
Sizes: Newborn sized clothing and diapers are now getting a little tight... So we've started dressing her in more 0-3 months onesies. Once we're out of the Babyganics and Honest Co. newborn diapers, we're going to start using the Earth's Best, Babyganics and Honest Co. size 1 diapers I've stocked up on.
Milestones: She picks up her head and keeps it up for a good 10 seconds. It's amazing! She also gazes into the eyes of the person, or animal, directly in front of her. She also turns her head completely to someone she hears. She's growing so fast!
For the past few weeks, my little love muffin has been fighting off congestion with a stuffy nose. :( Poor thing is miserable as she can't breathe!
