Review: Mustela Stretch Mark Survival Kit: Bust Support and Stretch Marks Double Action

Mustela Stretch Mark Survival Kit: Bust Support and Stretch Marks Double Action can be found as-is at stores such as Sephora, like I did, for $50. Or you can find the products separate at pregnancy/baby-specific stores like Babies R Us, and, apparently, Target. Separately, each bottle can go for $25-$30 each, so I think it's more cost-efficient to buy it in a set. Per Amazon: "Stretch Marks Survival Kit: 1x Stretch Marks Double Action 150ml/5oz 1x Specific Support Bust 125ml/4.22oz Stretch Marks Double Action is formulated with Arabinogalactane to prevent new stretch marks Infused with re-structuring vaso-protective complex to reduce present stretch marks Unveils clearer smoother & evenly-toned skin Specific Support Bust helps enhance firmness of bust & prevent loss of skin elasticity after giving birth Formulated with Elastoregulator® to boost resistance to changes in breast volume Unveils a lifted supple re-contoured & youthful looking bust"

The bottles are actually quite attractive considering the other stretch mark products I've seen. The audible "snap" when you open/close the lid is still apparent even after months of use, so you don't get that layer of crust when you use lotion products. Also, since the bottles stand, if you over pour, you're bound to have a goopy mess at the spout.

The consistency is very much like most other lotions, plus it has a chemical-induced scent of... roses? I'm not really sure. The first time I opened the bottle, it was extremely off-putting. After using it for a few months, I've gotten used to the smell, but it's not something I find pleasing. (If you've become sensitive to scents during your pregnancy, be wary it's strong!)

I place the stretch mark lotion on my abdomen, lower back and butt while I place the bust support lotion on my breasts and triceps. When you pour out the product, it's very densely white and dissipates into your skin... with a slightly glittery sheen. Sometimes I feel little residue when lathering it... and THAT is extremely off-putting. It also takes just as long as cocoa butter to "dry." I'd've imagined drying time would be less as the product is much less dense, but that's not the case.

Womp womp. Although stretch marks on my lower body have yet to appear, I have stretch marks on the lower half of my breasts. I knew I wouldn't be able to stop the stretch marks, but I thought I could prolong them for as long as possible!

Pros:
  • I like that it comes in a bottle.
  • The bottle is attractive- I love white and pink!

Cons:
  • Expensive
  • I don't like the shiny sheen...
  • I don't like the extra residue when lathering the product to my belly
  • The scent has grown on me, but I can see how some people won’t like it.
  • I have stretch marks on my breasts.

Would I repurchase this? No!
