How far along? 39 weeks (I decided to combine my 39 and 40 week posts so that I'd be current with my estimated due date).
Total weight gain/loss: 153.8 lbs!
Maternity clothes: Yes!
Stretch marks? Aaaaaall over my lower tummy and boobs. :(
Sleep: It's decent for the most part, but Tuesday was full of contractions due to my membrane sweep.
Best moment this week: Hearing that I'm making good progress in dilation and effacing.
Worst moment of the week: Anxiety as to whether or not I'll finish getting things ready before Lamby comes.
Miss anything? Being in control!
Movement: SO MUCH movement! It's a nice change since she was "sleeping" so often before.
Food cravings: Nothing!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing!
Have you started to show yet: YES!
Gender Prediciton: Lamby's a girl!
Labor signs: Yes! Contractions are steadily increasing and becoming more intense.
Symptoms: From most annoying or painful to least: inconsistent contractions, constant pelvic pain in my left groin (which still makes it difficult to walk), heartburn, sciatica/upper and lower back pain, swelling and a dime-sized hemorrhoid.
Belly button in or out? It looks like an outtie to me.
Wedding rings on or off? Off :(
Happy or moody most of the time? Moody! It feels like there's not enough time in a day to get what I need done.
Looking forward to: My due date and my parents' and L's visit!
In February, I met with a local stylist where I chopped off 5"! At the time, I knew I wanted to get highlights, but I wanted to see how my new stylist worked her magic... So I refrained from getting the highlights I oh-so-needed. Welps, baby is almost here and I NEED to get my highlights touched up.
I was seriously considering highlighting my hair similar to the two pictured on the left and gradually (like over two appointments, or three months) getting lighter, blonde-based, strands like the picture on the right.
Left: Before. Right: After.
Because I wanted a gradual transition, I wasn't going for blonde per se, but the stylist and I had a bout of miscommunicated. But Cristhian LOVES it since he's never seen me with any sort of "blonde." (Cristhian's been asking whether or not I'd do something blonde-esque for nearly six years.) The blonde baby highlights aren't so extremely obvious in pictures and I get constant compliments! It's just not as appealing (to me) in real life since I find the blonde so overtly "unnatural." I just got it done this past St. Paddy's Day, so I still mull over whether or not I want the stylist to apply more toner to soften the brightness of the blonde... but whatevs.
I guess I'm on the lookout for some purple shampoo. Any tips?
Did you rock a new 'do in preparation of motherhood?
How far along? 38 weeks (I do these a week behind as a recap of the previous week, so I'm actually 39 weeks today.)
Total weight gain/loss: I'm 152.6 lbs as of Tuesday. So I've gained 1.2 lbs as of last week and up 40.2 lbs since my last missed period.
Maternity clothes: Definitely yes to maternity shirts! Plus I'm still living out of my Gilly Hicks sweats and VS sweat pants... Not cute, but at 38ish weeks, I could care less... !
Stretch marks? YES! OH GOD, YES!
Sleep: Overall, I still sleep really well. But because I was hyped up on sugar on Monday night in preparation for the ultrasound on Tuesday, Lamby was kicking up a storm from 9pm, Monday, through to 4pm, Tuesday. I only had two hours of sleep!
Best moment this week: I loved seeing, and feeling, how active Lamby was when Cristhian and I watched Cinderella this weekend. I think that might be her movie! ;)
Worst moment of the week: Cristhian and I haven't spoken with the OB/GYN yet, but I saw our chart. I'm growing faster than normal, but Lamby is measuring two weeks behind. Since she's always measured a day shy of her ultrasound due date, her lack of growth was not something I was expecting. Our appointment with the doctor is tomorrow (it's usually Tuesday, but we scheduled the ultrasound today!), so we'll confer our options with the doctor.
Miss anything? I miss walking normally... Waddling is NOT cute!
Movement: She doesn't move as much as she used to, but Monday-Tuesday she's moved SO MUCH!
Food cravings: Nothing!!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing!!
Have you started to show yet: Ohhhh, yes! I'm all belly!
Gender Prediciton: It's a girl!
Labor signs: I'm 1cm dilated, 75% effaced and -2 station.
Symptoms: From most annoying or painful to least: constant pelvic pain in my left groin (which still makes it difficult to walk), heartburn, sciatica/upper and lower back pain, swelling and a dime-sized hemorrhoid.
Belly button in or out? I don't even know. I feel like it's an outtie, but in pictures it looks like an innie.
Wedding rings on or off? Off!
Happy or moody most of the time? I'm neutral, but going on moody! My belly is heavy and my petite frame can't support this baby!
Haven't done a weekend recap in a long time! My apologies! Cristhian and I actually do a lot each weekend... baby prepping isn't easy! I just haven't found the time to sit down and write about it. I'm sure that as time passes, I'll regret that... so I'M BACK!
Usually, Cristhian and I drive to Southie to view the spectacle that is the St. Patrick's Day Parade. But with my condition, aka not being able to walk for long periods, we decided against it. I spent the majority of the weekend nesting as Cristhian spent time with his family (his brother came up to visit)!
Yes, Otie is addicted to strollers and car seats!! He's hilarious!!
Zorro, Otie and Kuro haven't been more attached to me than they normally are. Of course, Otie and Kuro follow me like a puppy, but they've both been attached to me at the hip this past week. Zorro- he slept by me TWICE for prolonged periods (when he sleeps by me, it's usually only for 10-15 minutes) as I was studying. He's NEVER done that... ever! I'm not sure if animals have a sixth sense... maybe they feel that Lamby's coming soon?
Hubby and I saw Cinderella this weekend. ... It was everything I imagined a live action Disney Cinderella to be. I LOVED IT! It was also the first movie (this pregnancy) to make me tear. With Lamby as active as she was as watched the movie, it hit me that we'll be raising a daughter... Plus, I love Downton Abbey and friggin' love Lady Rose and Daisy! I also love the Game of Thrones characters that appeared as well! SUCH a thoughtful movie! I'm buying the soundtrack off Amazon. ;)
I got my hair done today, on St. Paddy's Day. Not the greatest picture- it was raining cats and dogs so my makeup was running. I have moments where I like and dislike my hair...
I hope your St. Paddy's Day weekend was as eventful!
How far along? 37 weeks (I do these a week behind as a recap of the previous week, so I'm actually 38 weeks today.)
Total weight gain/loss: I lost about a 1/4 lb- so that makes me 151.4 lbs. It's funny because I've been swelling recently PLUS I've been in a "Screw it! I'll just eat what I want from now on!" mood and have been eating dessert twice a day and a ton of carbs. Lamby's packing on those pounds!
Maternity clothes: I rotate four maternity tops... but in regards to sweats, now I just stick to my Gilly Hicks sweats. The jeans from Destination Maternity still fit, but jeans are just soooo uncomfortable and the band makes my tummy itch!
YES! It is as painful as it looks!
Stretch marks? Oh, yes. The stretch marks have come in in all its gloriousness. Bask it in its virility.
Sleep: Sleep is still great! I still get up 2-3x/night at midnight, 1:30am and 5:30am and fall asleep quickly.
Best moment this week: Ordering and assembling the Britax travel system was eye opening. It's no longer just Cristhian and me- like it's been for the past 8+ years- we're really going to be a family... with a daughter.
Worst moment of the week: I guess the worst thing this week was being told that Lamby needs to score well during our next ultrasound or else we'll have to go into Boston for a non-stress test and fetal monitoring.
Miss anything? I miss sleeping on my stomach and back!!
Movement: Definitely less than before (there's less room after all), but she still moves periodically for long stretches.
Food cravings: Ehh. Still nothing... but I've been liking pancakes lately. Or maybe it's the $5 coupon burning in my pocket that's enticing me for pancakes? Haha.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing at all!
Have you started to show yet: Ohhh, yes!
Gender Prediciton: It's a girl!
Labor signs: I've been getting a lot of sporadic contractions. This past Saturday, Cristhian seriously thought it was THE day. He spent the rest of the weekend nesting!
Symptoms: From most annoying or painful to least: constant pelvic pain in my left groin, sciatica/upper and lower back pain with overactivity, slight swelling and a dime-sized hemorrhoid.
Belly button in or out? It's really hard to say... it's sorta in, sorta out.
Wedding rings on or off? On for the most part... and off when I don't drink enough water!
Happy or moody most of the time? Actually, I've been frazzled for most of the week. Cristhian and I had a lot of things to order and assemble (hospital bag, diaper bag, travel system, Lamby's binder, etc)!
Looking forward to: Seeing Lamby at our next ultrasound!
I wanted to note that at my last two check-ups, I've been measuring larger than the average fundal height for my gestational age. The OB/GYN warned me that we might have to undergo another ultrasound... and it looks like it's come to fruition! Cristhian and I are going for my ultrasound next Tuesday morning. Hopefully I won't get sent to labor and delivery for a NST and hooked up to the EFM. :(
