Pregnancy Update: 35 Weeks

Don't judge me. Pictures were taken at 3am!!

How far along? 35 weeks (I do these a week behind as a recap of the previous week, so I'm actually 36 weeks today.)

Total weight gain/loss: +4.3 lbs which brings me to 150.1 lbs! (I had a GREAT weekend!)

Maternity clothes: Yes! I've been constantly rotating four t-shirts, two sweat pants and two jeans... My outfits are so plain!

Stretch marks? The stretch marks around my breasts seem to be fading, but I know they'll come back with a vengeance. The stretch mark on my tummy is being contained with multiple stretch mark products. Futile? Probably. But it does wonders for my mental health. ;)

Sleep: I get up 2x/night and it's not so bad.

Best moment this week: It's a tie between Cristhian's surprise babymoon in Cambridge and seeing Lamby at our ultrasound this (Monday) morning! We originally planned for a Philly getaway, then a Chicago getaway, but both fell through due to familial obligations. And our early morning ultrasound was a delight, as always! It's always such a sight to see Lamby while she's in my womb!

Worst moment of the week: At midnight on Sunday, I literally WALKED INTO THE BATHROOM DOOR. The only part of my body that hit the door was my belly, so I was wicked nervous. I watched for signs (abnormal discharge, bleeding, etc) and saw none. Baby's safety was reconfirmed by the ultrasound on Monday morning. A close second would be the issues with the Civic battery- all thanks to the ridiculous bus boy/valet!

Miss anything? Sleeping on my stomach!

Movement: Lamby's still active, but she's moving less. There's not as much room for her to flip around anymore!

Food cravings: Nuffin'!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nuffin'!

Soooo tired!!

Have you started to show yet: Ohhhh yes! It's aaaaaall belly!

Gender Prediciton: It's a girl!

Labor signs: I still get irregular contractions when I'm too active, but otherwise, labor feels weeks away!

Symptoms: From most annoying or painful to least: severe pelvic pain in my left groin, sciatica/upper and lower back pain with overactivity, swelling (over the weekend) due to lack of water and excess Sprite!, heartburn here and there, a dime-sized hemorrhoid (TMI!: which I've had since about 33w... and half of it popped today as I passed a bowel movement!) which is NOT painful or annoying, but is definitely a pregnancy issue- I've never had one before! ... and that about does it!

Belly button in or out? ... It's hard to ssy, but it's more of an innie than an outtie.

Wedding rings on or off? On! (But I was wicked scared during the babymoon. The ring was fitting pretty snug, but I'm positive that's due to poor diet and lack of water consumption. It's been just a day since I've come home and I'm no longer swelling!)

Happy or moody most of the time? I'm neutral... but I did flip the !@(* out on the manager and his petty valet/bus boy.

Looking forward to: Our Bradley Method class!

Babymoon in Cambridge (I love you, Greater Boston!)

Cristhian surprised me with a mini getaway this weekend. I know he wanted to stay in Boston... but he knows I prefer Cambridge! He booked the Royal Sonesta Boston, overlooking the Charles River, because it's directly across from "our" mall- Cambridgeside Galleria.

I'm wicked glad Cristhian and I got to relax and kick back before Lamby comes. We've been on our owns for nearly nine years and it felt SO good to be alone again. I think it was important for us to get away from it all. I miss having our own space!!

This was our view from the hotel room! I was excited to use the panorama option on my iPhone. What a beautiful sight!

Pre-pool selfie!

Obligatory money shot!

We also had a decent meal that was really soured by a less than stellar valet experience... and an ok brunch the next day. Ah, well. Can't win 'em all!

I want to do another babymoon. Does that make me crazy?!

Pregnancy Update: 34 Weeks

34w 5d.

How far along? 34 weeks (I do these a week behind as a recap of the previous week, so I'm actually 35 weeks today.)

Total weight gain/loss: +1.6 lbs over the last two weeks makes me 145.8 lbs. That's not too bad for someone who's been on a babymoon and on "vacation." I've gained 34 lbs since conception and I feel like I'll gain another 5-10 lbs (give or take)- at least!

Maternity clothes: Yes... but now even the ones I bought are starting to be skimpy on my belly area. I can't catch a break! 4-8 weeks left!

Stretch marks? YES! I have real stretch marks now and I know I'll only get more.

Sleep: Sleep is ok. At 34w, I found sleep to be difficult. Could it be because I was in a different setting (like when I was restless when first moving back to Lowell)? Who knows. I still wake up 2-3x a night in order to use the restroom, too.

Best moment this week: Being offered help with Lamby and Cristhian!

Worst moment of the week: There was one day Lamby barely moved... it was because I woke up sleeping on my 1/3 of my stomach! I think that gave her a run for her money and she was knocked out. She's since moved and has been as active as before.

Miss anything? Life before a slightly swollen right leg with RLS!

Movement: She moves so much!! It's actually becoming cumbersome because when she does move, it makes me immobile.

Food cravings: Nothing!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing!!

34w 5d.

Have you started to show yet: I'm huge!

Gender Prediciton: It's a girl!

Labor signs: I've started to experience more intense pressure, much different from BH, on my lower abdomen.

Symptoms: Hemorrhoids (that aren't painful or annoying, actually)!, RLS, slightly swollen right leg/hands (I guess my intake of 3L isn't cutting it anymore!), heartburn here and there, slight lower back pain, intense upper back/rib pain... and that's all I can think of now!

Belly button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or moody most of the time? Ehh, moody (due to stress from ming).

Looking forward to: Seeing my OB/GYN!

Wednesday Update: I had my last bi-weekly appointment with my doctor... Bring on the weekly appointments! I've always measured exactly on point, give or take a day!, with my confirmed "week." As a result, I have an ultrasound scheduled for next week to check for Lamby's growth. The OB/GYN thinks she's growing quickly for her gestational age, or there's a whole lot more amniotic fluid than initially anticipated for a live fetus and a 1/4 inactive fetus. Hopefully everything checks out at my next prenatal appointment.

Hair Chop: Hair Inspiration in the Third Trimester, Part I

People say that pregnancy is supposed to make your hair luscious, thick, healthy and beautiful. Due to a couple years' worth of re-education on nutrition and learning/working with my hair type, my hair was already as such! The only time it ever gets unmanageable and unruly is when I neglect it... and that's what happened this fall.

L: 28w 3d. R: 32w 3d.

I was in a period of transition (just having moved from Connecticut, being put on bed rest right before Thanksgiving, etc) and had no time to think about typical American maintenance... but I was due for a trim since November (Time permitting, I make it a habit to get my ends trimmed every 6-8 weeks!). As you can tell in my pregnancy updates, the ends of my hair are so dry and brittle!

With Lamby on her way, I've decided to cut my hair short again! I'm really looking forward to the weight, literally, being lifted off my shoulders. I'll get it cut shorter than I did previously. I'm hoping for something very similar to Soo Young's hair!

L: Day-Of Hair. R: 5th Day Hair (no makeup, right before bed!).

When I booked my appointment over the phone, I emphasized my nervousness and anxiety over seeing a new hair dresser. I explained that my hair is very thick, coarse and although I style my hair straight, its natural texture is wavy! The receptionist reassured me that the stylist she was booking me with was incredible. I booked the appointment, but I was still a wreck. I saw the stylist this past Tuesday. After 15 minutes of whining, my new stylist constantly assured me that she was trained in typical Asian hair types, thick hair types, etc, etc, etc... Welps, she did a great job (after I told her my preferences in regards to some particular cutting styles)! I chopped off about 5" and everything feels so much lighter!

Did you rock a new 'do in preparation of motherhood?
