24w 2d. What a gloomy, cold New England day this day was!
How far along? 24 weeks (I do these a week behind as a recap of the previous week, so I'm actually 25 weeks today.)
Total weight gain/loss: +2.4 lbs from last week puts me at 133.4 lbs. Warning: Rant! This was the first time ever a doctor has told me that I'm growing larger than expected (my words, not his!). He didn't make a fuss about it, but I sure as hell did. I understand that the bed rest and baby's growth spurt as a single sets me back... but I was hoping not to gain more than 30 lbs total this whole pregnancy. This weight gain better be amniotic fluid, blood, placenta and baby!! End Rant.
Maternity clothes: I only have one top that fits and covers my bump in its entirety. Literally. Just one shirt. Even my night shirts (aka my old raggedy t-shirts) are no longer fully covering my bump. You can see a peek-a-boo bit! Also, my two maternity jeans are starting to get tight around the belly area. Lamby sits way too low and makes things uncomfortable... plus I lost one of the only leggings that fit me so I'm down to ONE pair of bottoms that fit me without too much discomfort. So, basically, I live out of yoga pants and lounging bottoms!
Stretch marks? None... YET. Throughout my mom's pregnancies, she's got a crazy load of stretch marks... so I know they're coming. I haven't scratched (An old wives' tales states that where you scratch will leave you with stretch marks... ?) at least!
Sleep: I've been sleeping well despite the drastic change of weather. Thank God for Snoogles.
Best moment this week: I was told by the APRN that I'd be able to walk around and get some sort of activity in (although I've been active one day and down for the next...). I'm going to sign up for prenatal yoga once Cristhian secures a FT position.
Worst moment of the week: I had one BH that was incredibly debilitating. I couldn't walk, stand, sit or even lay comfortably. No position gave me relief and I didn't know what to do except go into fetal position (which didn't help either!) until the BH and its after effects passed.
Miss anything? I miss not being in pain!
Movement: Lamby moves SOOOO much! It's so funny/sad that it moves non-stop for me and suddenly stops whenever Cristhian places his hand over my bump. I guess Lamby and I will have our mommy/child moments a bit longer than anticipated.
Food cravings: None! BUT Because I'm currently eating how I did pre-pregnancy and even pre-weight loss, I don't consider this a craving, but my appetite for sweets has been reawakened. I'm not sure if it's because I'm back home and EVERYONE here snacks on desserts (like cookies, bars and tubs of ice cream, cakes, brownies, cheese/fruit danishes, pies, etc)... I mention this because Cristhian and I don't eat like this when we're on our own!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Have you started to show yet: Ooooh, yes. People constantly tell me I'm all belly... but I think they're telling me this because I look better than people think I would.
Gender Prediciton: 24 days until the baby shower!
Labor signs: I have BH contractions daily, but no dilation- Thank God! The BH are bad though, the OBGYN said if they get worse, they'll have to figure some sort of plan to alleviate the stress on my body. :(
Symptoms: My biggest woe is the back and rib pain. The sciatica comes and goes... and that's it!
Belly button in or out? In, but it's looking way weird.
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Happy or moody most of the time? Neutral.
Looking forward to: My glucose test is today (writing this as of Tuesday, 12/9) and I should get the result on Wednesday (when this post goes live). I'm a wreck!
