Best moment this week: Cristhian and I were able to feel the baby at its full length last night. It was WEIRD! Lamby will be here soon!!
Worst moment of the week: Being put on bed rest. :(
Miss anything? For the most part, I still did most everything I did pre-pregnancy. I find my pregnancy freeing and so completely different from everything I was warned about. The only single that makes me unpleasant is the constant pain in my sciatica area (caused by pregnancy) and back/shoulder pain (not caused by pregnancy, but is a result of being big-chested... and the symptom of their growth). I'm SO lucky that Cristhian is really understanding and often gives back massages!
Movement: Lots! It feels like popcorn popping this week.
Food cravings: Nothing... !
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing!
Have you started to show yet: YES! People claim that I don't look pregnant from the front of back, but I think they're just being nice.
Gender Prediciton: 39 days until the baby shower!
Labor signs: No real signs, but these debilitating Braxton Hicks are horrible. It lingers around my pubic bone and stays numb! Also, if I sit for prolonged periods, I end up limping for a while.
Symptoms: Braxton Hicks are my greatest enemy... that and being on bed rest. I really don't know how I'm going to handle being on bed rest for the next thirteen days!
Belly button in or out? Oddly in... it's weird!
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Happy or moody most of the time? I'm still neutral 90% of the time... but finding that I'm happier more often than I'm moody- if that makes any sense!
Looking forward to: Seeing the doctor to talk about my options!
I'm actually on the hunt for some nursing friendly tank tops and yoga pants/leggings. The tank tops I rotated sit neatly right above my pant line, plus I find that my yoga pants and leggings are the more comfortable of the four pairs I rotate. It's so hard finding pairs that sit extremely low! Ah, well. That's what internet shopping is for, no? Any suggestions?
A planned an informal vegetarian luncheon so E, Crissy, S, P and I could get together before the holidays get crazy and before P moves to New York City. Cristhian and I haven't seen E in monthssss! It was so great to see her and know that she's doing well. I LOVE knowing that my oldest friend has her passion recognized by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is teaching kids K-12! You go, chickie! Also, on a bittersweet note, P got married earlier this year and after her religious wedding in India (she'll be abroad for the next two months), she'll be shipped off to NYC. P has only ever lived in Lowell- she was born and raised here... It's gonna be different!
The luncheon started off iffy. A had just finished prepping the meal and had barely started her side dish. While P and Cristhian were in the living (awkwardly) talking, I helped A get the stuffed peppers together. Her pumpkin cheesecake was... ok- the ice cream was yummy! The best part was reminiscing over past times. I didn't go to high school with these girls, so it was nice hearing their stories!
Pictures taken by S.
After lunch (which ended around 5 due to awesome planning on A's part), we gathered in the living room for some Pictionary. Cristhian, P and I were on Team Snickers while Team Twinkie comprised of S, A and E. Needless to say, Snickers won by one point because we're so talented. Ahaha!
The holidays are such a busy time for us all- it was really nice to see such important friends!
How far along? 21 weeks (I do these a week behind as a recap of the previous week, so I'm actually 22 weeks today.)
Total weight gain/loss: -1.8 lbs which brings me to 126.3 lbs. Since coming home, my relatives feed me such hearty, wintry foods so often, my body can't help but gain. After that crazy jump last week, I've decided to be careful so I've been munching on more fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
Maternity clothes: YES! I live out of and rotate the same tops and four yoga bottoms. I've started to wear my fall dresses and layer them with a loose sweater.
Stretch marks? None yet!
Sleep: Well... but waking up at 4:30 every morning like clock work to piddle and again an hour later due to your early-rising relatives is not so awesome!
Best moment this week: I like feeling settled in the new room... Ya got what ya got, right?
Worst moment of the week: Constant, constant back ache in one particular area! It is the most annoying, cumbersome ailment!
Miss anything? I miss sleeping on and properly doing workouts on my stomach.
Movement: LOTS! Lamby is so, so low that it can be felt right by my pubic bone. It's crazy!
Food cravings: Nothing in particular, still, but for ****'s sake, let's say: I do prefer Sour Patch Kids immensely after not having eaten them in weeks (This calls for a movie night, right?!) due to lack of movie dates.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing in particular, but cooking meats is not generally something I like.
Have you started to show yet: Yes. My tummy is like a melon!
Gender Prediciton: 46 days until the baby shower!
Labor signs: TMI- I've had such painful Braxton Hicks lately- they're so severe this time around! It's like a Charlie Horse in my crotch, pubic and genital area.
Symptoms: I have this one zit by my right eye... I hate it!
Belly button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Happy or moody most of the time? Moody... but that's due to the living situation and in no way related to Lamby.
Looking forward to: The next doctor appointment! I'm excited to undergo and find out the results of my glucose test.
Uprooting our family of two cats and a dog from our one bedroom apartment into ONE bedroom has been interesting... to say the least. Oooh, the things one does in order to save money and pay back student loans! Needless to say, it's been a crazy two weeks since Cristhian and I have moved back to Massachusetts.
On Saturday, we were lucky enough to break away from our typical schedule of unpacking, organizing and errand running to attending a birthday party and catching up with Cristhian's friends and family. We haven't seen most of them since before we announced my pregnancy earlier in the fall! Even Cristhian's biological siblings and their family were even able to make their way up from Connecticut.
It was actually really, really nice to get away from the closeness of my family. Ah, well. S'ok! Hopefully next week will be more eventful than this week!
20w 4d. I should stop taking my pictures at midnight!! I look SO exhausted in all of these pictures!!
How far along? 20 weeks (I do these a week behind as a recap of the previous week, so I'm actually 21 weeks today.)
Total weight gain/loss: 128.1 lbs! DAMN. I know. Need to cut down on that soda! That's the only difference from my pre-pregnancy to pregnancy diet. Womp womp.
Maternity clothes: In terms of tops, I can still wear the majority of my shirts... so long as I wear one of two workout tops I have. The workout tops ensure the girls stay where they belong and are long enough to cover at least half my bottom. In regards to bottoms, between two maternity jeans, one Lululemon Wunder Unders and one Victoria's Secret yoga pants... they're my only public-appropriate pieces that comfortable and don't hurt my low-lying child and me.
Stretch marks? Not yet... I'm really nervous! I seriously wonder when and where they'll appear! The veins in my breasts have started to become prominent though. Oh, no!
Sleep: Sleep has been fine. Although it's conforming, the Snoogle is so incredibly comfortable.
Best moment this week: I'm happy to have found a workout buddy who I can keep up with and who can keep up with me! It's lonely being halfway through my pregnancy with no one to talk to or distract me... Even though she flaked out on me today. Haha. S'ok! Atleast, I have Crissy and my brother!
Worst moment of the week: I have a very tender, slightly swollen spot beneath my left breast... and it hurts. Not sure why! It started causing me pain on Saturday afternoon.
Miss anything? Laying on my tummy is a sore spot. :(
Movement: Lots! Too bad Crissy has yet to really feel it kick!
Food cravings: Nothing per se, but for our one year anniversary, I wanted to toast the night with something salty and savory. Cristhian ordered buffalo chicken, steak & cheese and crab rangoon egg rolls and they were all delicious. DEF try!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Have you started to show yet: YES!
Gender Prediciton: 55 days until the baby shower!
Labor signs: No contractions, but I still feel Braxton Hicks every so often.
Symptoms: I've gotten migraines (thanks, mom!) repeatedly over the years, but these headaches are something else... It's much, much more mild and I can usually work through it- it's just annoying! Also, the infamous linea nigra, or chloasma, has started to show ever so slightly!
Belly button in or out? IN!
Wedding rings on or off? ON!
Happy or moody most of the time? Moody, but that's not due to the baby. Living situations are difficult, man!
Looking forward to: Crissy and I are hoping to start a registry at Buy Buy Baby. I'm pretty much regretting my registry at Babies R Us... We'll see!
