Pregnancy Update: 17 Weeks

How far along? 17 weeks (I do these a week behind as a recap of the previous week, so I'm actually 18 weeks today.)

Total weight gain/loss: -0.1 lbs putting me at a total of 118.3 lbs. I think I'll probably plateau ~118 for a few weeks. We'll see!

Maternity clothes: On casual days, I rotate between two pairs of maternity jeans and the largest t-shirts I can find. On days where I need to look professional, I'm lucky that my 4s still fit- they're just form-fitting. And although my breasts have yet to grow, my belly area is certainly giving me a run for my money!

Stretch marks? Not yet... I'm nearly done my bottle of Bio Oil and half way through my tub of cocoa butter. I've used each product nightly since 8 weeks and haven't seen any prenatal stretch marks yet- and my lower abdominal area has really grown! I recently ordered the Mustela Stretch Marks Survival Belly and Bust Duo to use after finishing the Bio Oil.

Sleep: It's hard to fall and stay asleep. Lately, I've been averaging 3-5 hours per night and I'm seriously wide awake and bushy tailed for the majority of the day. My body must be preparing me for baby's arrival with sleepless, interrupted nights.

Best moment this week: On Wednesday while shopping for a few gifts for Crissy's soon-to-be former coworkers, Lamby decided to graze its fist/hand across the center of my stomach. It HURT LIKE HELL, but it was incredible to witness. Cristhian couldn't even believe it and barely touched my stomach (although I placed his hand roughly against my tummy)!! Moreover, my bout with acne seems to have subsided. The little bumpies, for the most part, have gone away. I wonder how long this will last?

Worst moment of the week: Repeatedly waking up on my back and feeling completely sore from head to toe as a result. I need to bite the bullet and buy that damn Snoogle everyone keeps raving about. Also, I had one day of serious heartburn. I had it once prior, but consistently drank milk to ward off the feeling of dying. This time, it was so bad I had to take TUMS.

Miss anything? Sleeping on my tummy is a big woe. In terms of food, I miss cold cut deli sandwiches (paired with a yummy kale or spinach salad- a typical lunch circa ~15 years!). I don't crave it per se, but every now and then I miss the rigor of my past routine

Movement: Yes! This is especially the case when reading a bedtime story to Lamby. It's extremely active and very involved in story time.

Food cravings: I'm tired of putting nothing in here. So I'll say fresh, crispy, salty foods- namely salads. I don't have it daily, but really enjoy the times I do eat a crispy, salty salad.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Honestly, nothing!

Have you started to show yet: YESSSS!

Gender Prediciton: I really love how Crissy and I refer to Lamby by its (actual) nickname. It makes everything feel so surreal!

Labor signs: None yet, thankfully

Symptoms: So far- my breasts are fuller (although they're the same size, 28E), trouble sleeping and therefore waking in pain, sciatica (which, by the grace of God, wasn't an issue this week), "hairy" (the amount of hair is the same, it's just that the hairs are thicker in appearance!) belly, and a need to eat smaller, more frequent meals. Not sure if they're considered symptoms (since they're so minor compared to most pregnancies), but these are my woes.

Belly button in or out? IN!

Wedding rings on or off? ON!

Happy or moody most of the time? I've actually started to feel happy! No more neutral-ness for me! It could be due to our impending move back to the Bay State, but I'm definitely leaning towards happy.

Looking forward to: My anatomy scan is this coming Friday, 10/24. I'm very excited to see Lamby! It's been, what feels like, forever!
