I'm holding myself accountable! Here are my stats... and photographic evidence! I'm ashamed, yes, but I'm hoping that this will be my stepping stone to better decisions!

Motivation Monday: Be A Better Me!

I haven't done one of these in a while so...

Since I've gotten a better since catching my cold, I've been becoming more and more active each day. On Friday, I did the LY Ab Workout on the hour every hour, on Saturday, I cleaned the entire apartment (a feat!!), on Sunday, Amanda and I walked roughly 2 miles at the boulevard and today, I did the LY Total Body & LY Ab Workouts 4x and the HIIT workout by Tone It Up. Wooh!!

Official Super Bowl 2013 Menu

The Super Bowl XLVII's menu is officially out and is being catered by Centerplate. This year's meal looks absolutely delish and perfect for a game.

"Menu items include alligator chili, with alligator sausage from Crescent City Meats, a local NOLA purveyor; a Roast Beef Debris Po'Boy, with rolls from 100-plus-year-old Leidenheimer bakery in New Orleans; BBQ shrimp and grits, with fresh Louisiana Gulf Coast-caught white shrimp; chicken and sausage gumbo, with dark roux, chicken, and sausage in a flavorful broth served with white rice; Natchitoches crawfish pies, Louisiana fried pies with zesty dressing crawfish stuffing; chef Donald Links' chicken sauce piquant (Links' take on the traditional Cajun recipe); and Bayou Bootleg, a drink with the taste of the South and a splash of raspberry, the special "Craft Cocktail" for this year’s Super Bowl."

What makes it better is that, supposedly, every fan attending the game will be offered this meal.

Can I say YUM?! I wish I was a lucky fan down in NOLA (although it'd be better if I was rootin' for the Pats! My boys better make it next year!! D:<).

Music: Lost in Love MV

Long gone are the days where you must sing well in order to strive (case in point, more recent divas like Whitney, Mariah and Beyonce). These days, it feels like as long as you have a pretty face, you can make it in the music business (ex: Kesha, Rihanna and Selena).

Asia's music is no different, really. Girls' Generation (or SNSD!)'s earlier days were bubble pop!-ish music (think Brit and Christina in the late 90s). All nine girls' ranges were very limited, with only a couple who could actually sing.

It's taken quite some years, but in my opinion, 'Fany's gotten a lot better at singing and Taeyeon's gotten so much stronger! I notice those two in particular since they're my favorite (along with Seohyun, so of course I love TaeTiSeo) of the group. Just thought I'd chime in with the lovely music video with Taeyeon and Tiff.

Asian music's gotten big over last year- and I'm glad! Our music emphasizes whatever emotion we're trying portray- whether it's anger, humor, love, depression, etc. Asians want to feel the heartache, the hardship, the fury, the romance. That's why other countries' music has such a large impact and is so widely translated throughout the continent. Don't believe me? Google "Sukiyaki."

Are there any groups/solo artists you feel sing incredibly well?

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

MLK Jr.'s work is not yet complete. There is so much more to do for equality amongst God's children. We must continue to fight for racial (and gender!) equality.

Growing up, I heard stories of my families' survival during the Khmer Rouge. There's not much that I can say (as I didn't experience that hate amongst brethren), but I can learn and grow from it.

To my knowledge, my first experience with racism was when my family and I moved to Connecticut. It was during my junior year of high school, my high school got a transfer student- a kid from the south. Within three days, he got notes of HATE plastered all over his locker and mean things written of him in the boys' room. He ended up transferring out to the neighboring school. I never understood how my classmates could accept my family and I (Asian) wholeheartedly and not this new kid's (African American). Also, my brother, Shawn, has stated that he's been a victim of racism during our tenure in high school, but he's never spoken to me about it. These incidents have really opened my eyes and deeply saddens me.

In our differences, God only sees beauty!

There's SO much more that needs to be done. But for what MLK, Jr.'s done, I'm sure America will be forever grateful. Our children and our children's children are deeply indebted. Thank you for your efforts, Dr. King. It does not go forgotten.
