Intro: Foundation Search

I've been on the hunt for my Holy Grail foundation. Like most people, I have things I need to cover- hyper-pigmentation, acne and scars. I don't want to paint my skin with thick, heavy liquid and I don't want to swipe dust on my face. More importantly, I don't want to look pale, dull or dead. Is it so hard to ask the cosmetic world for a foundation formula that is long-lasting, matches my skin tone & undertone and looks natural?!

A little about my skin type- my face is normal, but a touch dry in my chin area. As the day goes on, my forehead gets a little shiny. My face is also acne-prone. It's really finicky about what I can and cannot apply as it'll flare up with most products. In short, I have normal/combination and acne-prone skin.

My face- sans makeup. Circa 2009.

My requirements are:
  • matches my skin tone (undertones 'nd all!)
  • medium to full coverage
  • long-wearing
  • photographs well
  • doesn't break me out
  • controls oil
  • doesn't emphasize dry patches
I apply powder foundation one of two ways: my Sigma F30 (Mr. Bunny ver.) or my Sigma F84. For everyday-wear, I swipe the F30 over the product, then buff it into my skin in circular motions. If I want more coverage, I press the F84 into the product and then press it onto my skin. In regards to liquid foundation, I apply it one of three ways: with my (clean) finger tips, my Sigma F50, or my Sigma F82. I pump a nickel's worth of product onto my hand and dot the product where needed (usually one on each cheek, one on my chin and two dots on either side of my forehead).
Do you have a Holy Grail foundation?
